The problem with most fantasy maps are that they really aren't very realistic, and your subconsious mind probably pick up on it somehow The thing is that real planets evolve over millions of years, and are shaped by a variety of processes that are difficult to recreate the effects of, when making a fantasy map, because it's a quite complex
