Well it is a unit of density By definition, "density"="mass of stuff" "volume of stuff" And chemists typically use units of "grams" and cm^3 Note that 1*cm^3-=1xx (10^-2*m)^3 because "centi"-=10^-2 And so 1*cm^3-=1xx (10^-2*m)^3=10^-6*m^3 1 1000xx1 1000xxm^3 And since there are 1000*L*m^-3, and 1000*cm^3*L^-1 1*cm^3-=1xx10^-3*L-=1*mL as required
